• Given/graded by the teacher in March and sent to IB; encompasses all 5 IB themes: Identidades, Como compartimos el planeta, Experiencias, Organización social, Ingenio humano
• 15 minutes prep time (no dictionary or other resources); plus 12-15 recorded speaking time with the teacher (=4-5 minute presentation by student followed by a 10 minutes of Q & A and conversation with the teacher)
• How it's assessed: Criterion A: Language, Criterion B1: Message (Visual Stimulus), Criterion B2: Message (Conversation), Criterion C: Interactive skills (Communication)

* Given in May, 1 hour and 15 minutes, graded by IB
* Students are given 3 writing prompts and choose one. Once they choose the prompt they must then choose among 3 text types suggested for responding to it (only one is the most suitable)
